While we believe our company is only as strong as our people, the same philosophy is true for our community. Whether it’s helping to build a home for a family that lost everything or simply giving children supplies they need to color and draw, we believe in giving back to those who may need a helping hand. And we have a lot of fun while we’re doing it.
Here’s a look back at our charitable holiday campaigns from the past 10 years.
2005 HOLIDAY PACKAGE: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
The year 2005 found parts of the world ravaged by earthquakes, tornadoes and mudslides. We chose to express appreciation for all of our clients by making a donation to Habitat for Humanity International. The bricks symbolized the rebuilding efforts of Habitat in bringing affordable shelter to communities in need.
2006 HOLIDAY CARD: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Two years after the historical storm, many were still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. We chose to acknowledge our good fortune, clients and friends with a donation to Habitat for Humanity, a driving force in the recovery efforts in the Gulf Region. A card of understated design was decorated with miniature tools to represent the 500 new homes built for storm victims.
2007 HOLIDAY PACKAGE: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Again donating to Habitat for Humanity on behalf of clients and friends, an integrated program combining a personalized URL within a printed card led recipients to an animated holiday greeting on a personal web page. A house-shaped cutout made of seeded paper, symbolic of the Habit donation and growth that the New Year promises, could be planted in the potted soil to create a desktop garden.
2009 HOLIDAY GREETING AND NOTE CARDS: FORGOTTEN HARVEST
As the economic downtown hit very close to home, our donation efforts turned to Forgotten Harvest, which is dedicated to fighting hunger in our community. Faced with challenges in everyday living, many returned to the basics for survival. In this spirit, we created a set of note cards, a basic and personal form of communication, along with a greeting card.
2010 HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN: FORGOTTEN HARVEST
The “You Click, We Give!” holiday campaign combined the strengths of direct mail, e-mail and social media to draw people to our Reach Out blog to join our efforts in providing meals through Forgotten Harvest to those who needed a hand. The printed greeting card included Magna Men magnets, the mascot of our “Stay Connected” theme.
2011 HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN: FORGOTTEN HARVEST
Symbolic of Forgotten Harvest’s core principle of repurposing, the wooden spoon in this “You Click. We Give” campaign represented the notion of simplicity. Whereas this tool turns basic ingredients into a meal, a simple click on our blog translated into 10 meals for those in need. Monthly blog posts and a calendar with repurposing tips allowed us to stay connected with our clients and friends throughout the year.
2012 HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN: DONORSCHOOSE.ORG
This year’s program connected us with an organization whose goals were near and dear to us: supplying essential art supplies to local classrooms through DonorsChoose.org. Utilizing a direct mail package of poster and crayons, an e-mail, a video and social media channels, we encouraged our clients and friends to help us inspire young minds and color a brighter future.
2013 BRINGING CREATIVITY TO LIFE: DONORSCHOOSE.ORG
The heartwarming feedback we received from students and teachers in 2012 encouraged us to once again donate essential art supplies to local classrooms in need through DonorsChoose.org. Our 2013 campaign included a direct mail package with a wooden snowman, paint and paintbrushes. We were delighted to receive photos of the snowmen painted by our clients and friends in support of keeping art and creativity alive for local children.
2014 SHAPING A CREATIVE FUTURE: DONORSCHOOSE.ORG
As a marketing communications and design firm, creativity lies at the heart of our business. Because local schools are still struggling with funds for basics, we were inspired to once again help shape the future of creativity by supplying essential art supplies to metro Detroit classrooms through DonorsChoose.org.
